Detroit Distillery Pairs Kentucky and Michigan Flavors

Michigan Spirits is releasing a new product this week that pairs the flavors of one region with another. The release of Two Faced Blended Straight Bourbon features 50% bourbon from Kentucky and the other half made in Detroit using Michigan grains that come directly from area farms. It will debut Friday, Aug. 23, at a party at the distillery in Detroit’s Eastern Market.

What started as a wild idea at a bachelor party campfire more than a decade ago has become woven into the fabric of Metro Detroit’s nightlife and cocktail scene. Eight childhood friends and three University of Michigan grads founded Detroit City Distillery, which has partnered with entities large and small to raise money and awareness for numerous causes through the sale of specialty or limited-edition bottles of bourbon and other spirits. Co-owner J.P. Jerome credits the long-lasting friendships among his seven partners as a key element to their success.

The History of Distilling in Detroit and How Weiss Is Reviving It

The historic Whiskey Factory, built in the 1930s at 1000 Maple and once home to Goebel Brewery and Stroh’s Ice Cream, houses Detroit City Distillery, which creates small batch artisanal whiskey, gin and vodka. Its distinguished heritage combines with modern technology to showcase the spirit of innovation in this urban two-story distillery and event space.

When the pandemic hit and first responders, healthcare workers and others across Michigan began facing critical shortages of personal protective equipment like hand sanitizer, Detroit City Distillery knew it had the resources to quickly adapt its manufacturing and supply chain to produce and distribute it at scale. The company contacted Pure Michigan Business Connect, which uses its COVID-19 Procurement Platform to connect personal protective equipment suppliers with organizations in need.

Drain Clearing Vs Drain Cleaning

Keeping your Clear Drain Cleaning is an important preventative maintenance task that many people forget to do. Sink and tub drains aren’t usually front and center in our minds – until they stop working. Clogged drains are frustrating and inconvenient, and they can also cause water damage to counters, floors, or walls. To avoid these costly problems, it’s important to understand what can clog your drains and how to prevent them from happening in the first place.

Whether you’re dealing with a slow-moving sink or a complete blockage, it can be difficult to know what to do. Depending on the nature of your clog, it might be best to call in a professional. But how do you know if it’s worth the investment? In this article, we’ll discuss the difference between drain clearing and drain cleaning and help you determine which service is right for you.

The Importance of Professional Drain Cleaning with Clear Drain Cleaning

The most common method of removing an obstruction from a drain is called “drain clearing.” This can involve anything from a drain snake to a bottle of liquid drain cleaner, and it simply involves breaking down the clog. The actual technique used can vary based on where the clog is, what it’s made of, and how big the drain is.

However, this is typically only half of the work. In order to keep your drains completely free from clogs and buildup, it’s important to clear out the entire drain piping system. This includes the entire length of your fixture drain inlets, main building piping, and even the lateral piping that runs outside of your home to the city sewer lines. In order to do this, you’ll need a machine like an electric drain auger or a hydro jetting machine.

How to Choose a Georgia Insulation Contractor

Insulation helps control the flow of heat, electricity, and sound through a building. It’s a crucial element that can reduce energy bills and improve a home’s comfort. The right contractor can help with the selection of insulation materials, install them correctly, and assist in getting rebates from energy companies.

When choosing an insulation contractor in Commerce, GA, it’s important to look for a company with a track record of quality work and excellent customer service. You should also ask for a portfolio of projects and references. A confident contractor will have no problem providing you with a list of dozens of former customers who can provide feedback about their experience.

Insulation Maintenance Tips for Georgia Homeowners

Another aspect to consider is whether or not the insulation contractor has a license for their business. Many states require a separate license for insulation contractors, while others cover it under their builder’s or general contractor’s license. If you’re concerned about licensing, call your local government agency to check the contractor’s status in your area.

An experienced insulation contractor will perform a thorough walk-through and inspection of your home, identify problem areas by looking for air leaks, and recommend the best types of insulation for your specific climate zone. They will be able to explain the benefits of spray foam versus cellulose and other products on the market, so you can make an informed decision. Additionally, the right pro can advise you on ENERGY STAR rebates and tax credits for energy-efficient upgrades.

Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam insulation is an insulation material that can reduce your home’s energy costs by up to 50%. This is because the air sealing created by spray foam helps prevent warm and cool air from escaping your building.

The open-cell spray foam contains little pockets that make it difficult for heat energy to pass through them. These pockets also allow the insulation to fill in spaces that might otherwise be difficult to reach with conventional batts of insulation. This makes spray foam very effective and easy to install.
